They reached the World Series 7–0 this postseason, finishing Seattle in a division series before toppling the Yankees in the American League Championship Series. They were only the fifth team in MLB. Playing in the days before the playoffs, the 1976 Cincinnati Reds are the only team in history to storm through the playoffs never losing. They went 7-0 in the N.L.C.S, beating the Phillies. And the Yankees in the World Series.
By the time Tucker hit two ball seats, it looked like the party might never end. And Verlander didn't even allow a hit at the time, having faced 10 hitters before.
But then with two and one in the fourth, Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos smashed base hits and Alex Bohm doubled them. Suddenly Verlander was unable to down his breaking ball. Everything stayed on.
